Orland Kids Bike Night

On Saturday, August 20th, there is a bike race being held at Orland Raceway, located at Glenn County Fair Grounds. During intermission of the races, the track will be open for any child that has a bike and helmet to come down to compete. Kids 3 to 14 years old can enter the bike race. There will be different divisions, 3-5 year old, 6-8 year old, 9-11 year old and 12-14 year olds. The top 3 finishers in each division will win a trophy. 
This is a great experience for kids of all ages. This year is a little different, Orland Raceway lost, not only a huge supporter of the racing community, but the local community as well, Barbara Crain. Over the years Barbara has taken on the kids bike night making sure each child has the best time.  
There will be a bike giveaway during bike night also. Barbara had a goal every year to see that every child in attendance receives a new bike and helmet. This year we are striving to reach that goal in her honor. We are asking local business owners to help by either donating a new bike and/or a new helmet to be given away or to donate what they can toward a bike or helmet. All donated items will have their business names on the bike and announced at the track. There are so many kids in the community who could benefit from a new bike.
